An Examine
Corporal and Spiritual Works of Mercy
“Lord Jesus Christ, help me to feed the hungry, give drink to the thirsty, clothe the naked, welcome the stranger, heal the sick, visit the imprisoned; and help me to counsel the doubtful, instruct the ignorant, admonish sinners, bear wrongs patiently, forgive offences willingly, comfort the afflicted, pray for the living and the dead.”
We pray The Ten Commandments
I am the Lord your God: you shall not have strange gods before me.
You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain.
Remember to keep holy the Lord’s Day.
Honor your father and your mother.
You shall not kill.
You shall not commit adultery.
You shall not steal.
You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.
You shall not covet your neighbor’s wife.
You shall not covet your neighbor’s goods.
The Deadly Sins
Examine each:
Pride – when I think I’m better than others or forget that everything good in me comes from God.
Greed – when I always want more and don’t share what I have.
Lust – when I treat people like things instead of God’s children to be loved and respected.
Envy – when I feel sad or angry because someone else has something good that I want.
Gluttony – when I eat or take too much and forget to be thankful or moderate.
Wrath – when I let anger control me and hurt others with my words or actions.
Sloth – when I’m lazy about doing what is right: working and growing, loving God, praying, or helping others.
Pause to reflect
Act of Contrition
O my God, I am heartily sorry for having offended Thee, and I detest all my sins because of Thy just punishments, but most of all because they offend Thee, my God, Who art all good and deserving of all my love. I firmly resolve, with the help of Thy grace, to sin no more and to avoid the near occasion of sin. Amen.
Prayers in the Silence of Our Heart
Remember the women and the judge. God wants to hear the prayers of your heart. The prayers of your life. The prayers of your pain.
Gifts of the Holy Spirit
O Lord Jesus Christ Who, before ascending into heaven did promise to send the Holy Spirit to finish Your work in the souls of Your Apostles and Disciples, deign to grant the same Holy Spirit to me that He may perfect in my soul, the work of Your grace and Your love. Grant me the Spirit of Wisdom that I may despise the perishable things of this world and aspire only after the things that are eternal, the Spirit of Understanding to enlighten my mind with the light of Your divine truth, the Spirit of Counsel that I may ever choose the surest way of pleasing God and gaining heaven, the Spirit of Fortitude that I may bear my cross with You and that I may overcome with courage all the obstacles that oppose my salvation, the Spirit of Knowledge that I may know God and know myself and grow perfect in the science of the Saints, the Spirit of Piety that I may find the service of God sweet and amiable, and the Spirit of Fear that I may be filled with a loving reverence towards God and may dread in any way to displease Him. Mark me, dear Lord, with the sign of Your true disciples and animate me in all things with Your Spirit.
Act of Faith
O my God, I firmly believe that You are one God in three Divine Persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit; I believe that Your Divine Son became man, died for our sins, and that He will come to judge the living and the dead. I believe these and all the truths which the holy Catholic Church teaches, because You have revealed them, Who can neither deceive nor be deceived. Amen.
Act of Hope
O Lord God, relying on Your almighty power and infinite mercy and promises, I hope to obtain the pardon of my sins and life everlasting, through the merits of Jesus Christ, my Lord and Redeemer. Amen.
Act of Love
O my God, I love You above all things with my whole heart and soul, because You are all-good and worthy of all my love. I love my neighbour as myself for love of You. Amen.
Prayer for virtue
Lord, grant me the virtues of prudence (right reason in action), justice (firm will to give each his due), fortitude (courage to endure and persevere in good), and temperance (self-control in desires and pleasures), that I may live wisely and well in Your sight.
Lord, grant me the virtues of chastity (purity in body and heart), temperance (moderation guided by reason), charity (love of God and neighbor), diligence (zeal in fulfilling duty), kindness (gentle mercy toward others), patience (steadfastness in suffering), and humility (truth before God and self), that I may stay far from sin and join Your holy saints in heaven.
Prayer of Abandonment
Father,
I abandon myself into your hands;
do with me what you will.
Whatever you may do, I thank you:
I am ready for all, I accept all.
Let only your will be done in me,
and in all your creatures -
I wish no more than this, O Lord.
Into your hands I commend my soul:
I offer it to you with all the love of my heart,
for I love you, Lord, and so need to give myself,
to surrender myself into your hands without reserve,
and with boundless confidence,
for you are my Father.

Hail Mary
Hail Mary, full of grace! The Lord is with thee; blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death. Amen.
Hail Holy Queen
Hail, Holy Queen, Mother of Mercy, our life, our sweetness and our hope. To thee do we cry, poor banished children of Eve; to thee do we send up our sighs, mourning and weeping in this valley of tears. Turn then, most gracious Advocate, your eyes of mercy toward us; and after this our exile show unto us the blessed fruit of your womb, Jesus. O clement, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary. Pray for us, O holy Mother of God. That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ. Amen.
Nicene Creed
I believe in one God, the Father almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all things visible and invisible.
I believe in one Lord Jesus Christ, the only-begotten Son of God, born of the Father before all ages. God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God; begotten, not made, consubstantial with the Father; through him all things were made.
For us and for our salvation he came down from heaven: by the Holy Spirit was incarnate of the Virgin Mary and became man. He was crucified under Pontius Pilate; he suffered death and was buried, and rose again on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures; he ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead and his kingdom will have no end.
I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son, who with the Father and the Son is adored and glorified, who has spoken through the prophets.
I believe in one, holy, catholic and apostolic Church. I confess one Baptism for the forgiveness of sins and I look forward to the resurrection of the dead and the life of the world to come. Amen.
Come Holy Spirit
Come, Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of Thy faithful and kindle in them the fire of Thy love.
Anima Christi
Soul of Christ, sanctify me.
Body of Christ, save me.
Blood of Christ, inebriate me.
Water from the side of Christ, wash me.
Passion of Christ, strengthen me.
O Good Jesus, hear me.
Within your wounds hide me.
Suffer me not to be separated from you.
From the malicious enemy, defend me.
In the hour of my death, call me
and bid me come to thee
That with thy saints I may praise thee
For ever and ever. Amen.
Our Father
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name; Thy kingdom come; Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.
Eternal Exchange
You are love: Your very being is love. By sending Your only Son and the Spirit of Love in the fullness of time, You have revealed Your innermost secret: You are an eternal exchange of love, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, and You have destined us to share in that exchange.
Blessed be the Holy and Undivided Trinity,
now and forever. Amen.
Eucharistic Prayer
Most Holy Trinity, I adore Thee! My God, my God, I love Thee in the Most Blessed Sacrament.
Glory Be
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit; as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
Because of You, All Shall Be Well
Because of You, all shall be well.
All shall be well.
All shall be well.
And, all shall be well.
